Balance and Transgression

In the Quran the word “balance” (mizan) and all its derivatives are used 23 times. In the Quran, “transgression” (israf) means the decline of the balance and is being condemned. The word “transgression” and all of its derivatives are also used in the Quran 23 times. Below are two verses where these words are used in the Quran:

25- We sent aforetime our messengers with clear signs and sent down with them the book and the balance, that men may stand forth in justice…”
57-Iron, 25
28- Truly, God guides not one who transgresses and lies!
40-Forgiver, 28
