Israel closes Ibrahimi Mosque, storms Al-Aqsa

Ramallah (IINA) – The Israeli occupation authorities on Tuesday closed Ibrahimi Mosque and its courtyards in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron for Muslim worshipers under the pretext of Jewish New Year, Petra News Agency reported.
According to a statement of the Palestinian Ministry of Waqf and Religious Affairs, Israeli authorities closed the mosque for the second day in a row and it will re-close it again next Thursday to celebrate Jewish Repentance holiday.
The statement added that Israeli authorities banned the call to prayer at Ibrahimi Mosque several times, noting that these practices violated human rights and the international conventions.
Meanwhile, clashes erupted early Tuesday in Al-Aqsa Mosque compound between dozens of Muslim worshipers and Israeli soldiers who stormed the Mosque and fired tear gas canisters and pepper-spray against them, according to the Palestine Red Crescent Society.
