SORROW NEGATIVELY AFFECTS THE FETUS: HAD THE QUR’AN POINTED THIS OUT?

This is very recent information that the scientists discovered few years ago, but we may feel surprised if we knew that the Holy Quran had clearly pointed out this information which testifies that this book is miraculous…

A new problem arose that had confused the western scientists, this problem is the presence of fetal deformities during pregnancy, and after many trials and extensive studies they have found that sorrow can greatly affect the development and formation of the fetus in his mother’s womb! Researchers said that high emotional and psychological pressure the woman is subjected to during and before pregnancy can become a factor in the appearance of different deformities incidence in the fetus.

Previous studies and researches mentioned that strong emotional stress during pregnancy, like loss of career, divorce, separation between couples, sadness on a dead person, can lead to up normal cases and deformities in the fetus like cleft palate and others. The research team had concluded the previous results under the chairmanship of Dr. Dorith Hansen and it undertook testing of the results that the previous studies had concluded.

The research team had examined the medical records involved in Denmark in the period between 1980 and 1992 to identify the women who were subjected to strong and sever emotional stress because of important and impressive accidents in their lives that happened 16 months before delivery. The researches had compared between 3560 women passed through hard emotional experiences and about 20 thousand birth cases by women who were not subjected to such experiences like death of a relative or the discovery of cancer in a relative and other stressing emotional matters.

It was verified for the researchers that the rate of incidence of congenital deformities in the babies of stressed mothers is double the rate in other women. Also, it was noticed that women having two successive pregnancies are more exposed to give birth to a deformed baby than other women. The researches found that the chances of fetal exposure to congenital deformities increases when the mother become sad for the loss of one of her children at the first trimester, and the risk increases if the death was unexpected, the scientists estimates that the emotional pressure is the reason of the increase of cortisone hormone which leads to the increase in blood sugar level and reducing oxygen percentage in tissues which are two factors contributing to fetal congenital deformities

Dr. Peter Heber, from the Research Center of lethal behaviors at Queen’s University in Belfast, Northern Ireland, said that the results were not surprising, the medical media know that the emotional stress affect the physiological activities in the body of the pregnant woman and we see no reason for not passing the effect to the fetus. And he clarified that the results of the last study support the proofs accumulated in the past about the effects of the emotional crises and pressure resulted on the pregnant and its role in fetal deformities.

The scientists confirmed that stress passively affects the fetus, and the degree of effect is not simple, yet it can lead to serious congenital deformities because the stages of fetal development is very sensitive and can be affected by anything, therefore I advice every pregnant to increase listening to the Quran (to make her fetus listen to the Quran daily) as this doing will make the fetus more stable especially that the new studies confirmed that the fetus hears voices and get affected by them, and listening to the Quran leads to the stability of the mother’s heart and calmness which positively affects the fetus making him grow well.

LOOK AT THE MAGNIFICENCE OF THE QUR’AN

The information that we have seen in this scientific release are presented by the doctors as new information and released for the first time, but when we meditate the holy Quran we noticed that it had pointed to the relationship between sorrow and pregnancy in the story of Miriam, peace be upon her, he the Almighty says speaking to Miriam, peace be upon her: (So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a far place* And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a date-palm. She said: “Would that I had died before this, and had been forgotten and out of sight!” Then [the babe ‘Îsâ (Jesus) or Jibrîl (Gabriel)] cried unto her from below her, saying:” Grieve not: your Lord has provided a water stream under you* “And shake the trunk of date-palm towards you, it will let fall fresh ripe-dates upon you* So eat and drink and be glad. And if you see any human being, say: ‘Verily! I have vowed a fast unto the Most Gracious (Allâh) so I shall not speak to any human being this day.) (22-26: Maryam). The divine declaration had pointed out that the pregnant woman should necessarily be happy and pleased and not to be sad because it will hurt her fetus.

And if we meditated the Quran verses, we will notice that the word ” Grieve not” was mentioned another time with the mother of moses when her God ordered her not to grieve, he the Almighty says: (And We inspired the mother of Mûsâ (Moses): (telling): “Suckle him, but when you fear for him, then cast him into the river and fear not, nor grieve. Verily, We shall bring him back to you, and shall make him one of (Our) Messengers) (7: Al Qasas). Because Allah, the Almighty, knows that sorrow is harmful to her and her child as she will breast feed him and her milk will be affected by sorrow and depression, therefore, Allah had returned her baby to her in order not to grieve and become satisfied, He the Almighty then says: (So did We restore him to his mother, that her eye might be comforted, and that she might not grieve, and that she might know that the Promise of Allâh is true. But most of them know not) (13: Al Qasas).

Look, my beloved brothers, how the divine order was repeated three times in these two stories” (Grieve not, nor grieve, not grieve) and this indicates that Allah wants us not to grieve, with the knowledge that sorrow is a human characteristic that can not be eliminated, and the prophet grieved for the dead of his son and our prophet Jacob grieved for the departure of his son Joseph, therefore this Quran story was comforting our prophet Muhammad and grant him more patience to be pleased with his God’s mercy, He the Almighty says speaking to the prophet: (And endure you patiently, your patience is not but from Allâh. And grieve not over them (polytheists and pagans), and be not distressed because of what they plot* Truly, Allâh is with those who fear Him (keep their duty unto Him), and those who are Muhsinûn (good doers.) (127-128: Al Nahl), and He, the Almighty says speaking to the believers: (So do not become weak (against your enemy), nor be sad, and you will be superior (in victory) if you are indeed (true) believers) (139: Al Imran). Shall we grieve after this marvelous divine speech?

And we remember our prophet Muhammad while he was in the most difficult and hardest conditions when he was in the cave and the disbelievers were lurking for him in every side, what did he said to our master Abu Baker? He the Almighty says: (he said to his companion “Be not sad (or afraid), surely Allâh is with us.”) (40 Al Tauba). Al these verses are positive messages for the believer to stop grieving and start new life with which he feels Allah’s, the Almighty, mercy. We ask Allah, the Almighty, to accept this effort from us and to reward the brother who sent the idea of this assay and every one who participate in sending idea or information that benefit the research, He is close and Respondent.
