Tolerance is the Treatment
Scientists have found that tolerance and forgiveness boost the immune system, help cure diseases, help lower blood pressure, and protect the body from heart attacks and strokes. Today, physicians advise their patients who suffer from psychological disorders to practice and learn tolerance and forgiveness and help people. They have also discovered that happiness couldn’t be attained though money but rather through offering help to whoever needs it. All glory to Allah; He commanded us to be tolerant and forgiving. Allah, the exalted says in the holy Qur’an:
“O ye who believe! Truly, among your wives and your children are (some that are) enemies to yourselves: so beware of them! But if ye forgive and overlook, and cover up (their faults), verily Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Taghabun or Mutual Loss & Gain 64:14)
Allah, therefore, commands us to be tolerant and forgiving and provides us with the suitable treatment for our psychological and social problems for Allah wants us to attain happiness. Thus, we praise Allah for the grace of Islam.
